Great Performances on PBS will air King Lear on March 25 (check local listings). After that date, the film will be available to watch online. More information can be found here (http://www.pbs.org/wnet/gperf/episodes/king-lear/introduction/475/).
Ian McKellen, Royal Shakespeare Company. This should be terrific.

Yeah! I was hoping to show/read this for my Great Books/Worldviews class this year but was having a hard time finding a place to fit it in. Instead we just might have movie night. Thanks for the heads-up.

Thank you for posting this, Jane! I'm so glad that I found out that PBS will air things online. We don't have a DVR, but the online option makes viewing so convenient. Ian McKellen is great! :)

Thanks too because it seems like we could watch it even here!

Oh dear. I know the stage version in London had him fully nude (briefly). I wonder whether/how we can find out whether this production is the same performance? I guess we could FF to the part and see....
EDIT - Yea for google - no nudity!! Yes for PBS!
