How does the scheduling work for Prima Latina? Is it daily? Do you spend the same amount of time each day? Are the DVD days longer? What has been your experience? Thanks for sharing! :tongue_smilie:

I'm doing this with my almost 6 yo. Kinder/1st level.
We do it every day, it takes just a few minutes. We listen to the cd. He learns 5-6 words each week, plus a phrase and one line of a prayer.
I made my own flashcards for the words, so we just do them a couple times a day and by friday he has it down, and 1-2 times a week we review all of them to date. I do it all orally, he doesn't do the workbook as it's too much writing for his level. Sometimes we go through all the questions in the workbook orally, sometimes we just learn the lesson for the week. I don't go in detail in derivatives, just usually point them out and mention them if we come across it in other places throughout the day.
I really like it. It's simple, not too much time committment, and for now it's my son's favorite subject!
I think you could tailor to however you need it to be. I think too much time between lessons, though could be difficult since a lot of it is just memory work.

Also, whatever prayer we're working on, I make magnets out of each line of the prayer and add it to the fridge. He practices it when he notices them and mixes them up and puts them in the right order.
So we do one lesson per week, but I think you could go slower or even faster with an older kid.

This has been a great program. My 10 ds and 19 ds do two lessons a week. Flash cards are prepared and practiced daily. We speak what we know as often as possible. For instance, my 10 yo wanted to say, "I work for God." After some research, we came up with, "Laboro pro Deus."
He loves it! Oremus is often heard and the prayer is said during dinnertime. It's been great fun!
