Things needed for The Elements?

Do I need a balance, scale, beakers, or anything like that?

I put this stuff on a post-it because this was stuff I would not readily have in the house:
Iron on printer sheets
balloons (whatever size)
glass jar
9V battery
2 copper wires (stripped at both ends)
wooden dowel and string to make a little fishing pole
small magnets (for the end of the string of the fishing pole)
steel wool ( 5 pieces the size of a golf ball)
30x magnifier (not lower than 10x, not a microscope)
thermometer
a piece of horticultural charcoal

So you didn't need a balance or to weigh anything? I wasn't sure. I've been investigating one for the BJU science 5 and wondered if it would get more use. And thanks for that list! :)
