We've kept it very light this year.
R&S math 1
Spelling Workout A
copywork
I have her read for about 20-30 minutes a day. Plus she reads on her own.
started off the year with Galloping the Globe but have now switched over to SOTW1.
And in case anyone wants to know...Galloping the Globe is a great little program and my dd was enjoying it very much. I just decided it was time to move on to ancients. As much as I enjoy change I'm sure we will use all of GtG between now and 4th grade.

I can't believe I am going to have a 1st grader again!!
I put it all on reading, writing, and math in the early years, so that influences my choices. For ds, turning 6 in June...
We will continue Horizons Phonics with grade 1. Maybe Horizons Spelling (or Spelling Workout) and handwriting. Maybe FLL (compacted for one year.)
Literature from various lists, both read-alouds and independent.
Math will be BJU 1 and some playing with Miquon and other manipulatives... and hitting the math facts hard.
Local history and American history though living books
Continue learning Greek, Spanish, and Latin scraps from older dc.
Science through reading living books and some hands-on projects (butterfly/frog raising, leaf collection, nature book, etc.)
Finish Vos Story Bible, continue learning Shorter Catechism, miscellaneous Bible teaching resources.
Lots of Bible and poetry memory, copywork, narration, dictation
Art class, piano, maybe some martial arts

I have SO enjoyed using MFW 1st for Bible this year, and have no clue how I will format Bible next year. I may put some things together using the same format: I read the passage, she reads the passage, and then she draws a picture and does copywork on that topic.

Learning to Read and Reading/Phonics
Let's Read a Linguistic Approach(similar to Alpha Phonics, only goes further)
Pathway first grade readers
Explode the Code books 2, 3, and presently starting book 4
first grade online spelling lists (just for fun)
Handwriting Without Tears
Bible
Leading Little Ones To God
Bible Story Book (reading the new testament now)
We have memorized a few verses, but only 5 so far as this is very difficult for my son.
Math
Rod and Staff Math 1 (I have really enjoyed this and my son needs the slow steady progression of Rod and Staff)
Science/Social Studies
Abeka first grade
Fridays we work on two thinking skills books, and sometimes a book report form from lovetolearnplace.com
Saturdays is library day and we take out lots of science and social studies books of interests. My son likes books on facts, not fiction. We also take out lots of Frog and Toad readers. :) I'm sure I'm missing something, but this is the general gist of it.

Drawing with Children, if he takes to it, and a Kohl book on various mediums if he doesn't. Elizabeth A. Chase's OOP 1963 Introduction to Art (my sister gave this to me for my 5th birthday and I was glued to it for years). You can find this used.
Vox Music Masters and the Selections of the Greats (kiddo loves classical music). Will add in Museum of Mankinds CDs of old recordings of various peoples and some drumming CDs for dancing to.

I'll have a first grader next year. He will be using My Father's World First Grade along with MathUSee Alpha. I will also use some of the lessons in First Language Lessons, but not all of them. MFW First Grade will most likely be enough for him, but if he needs additional practice with phonics or handwriting, he'll use Explode the Code and Handwriting Without Tears. I also plan to use Sonlight Science C (the old K) with him because he loves SL science and begs for it. And, I'll continue using read alouds from SL with him as he'll be sitting in on his older brother's Sonlight Core (Core 1+2) when he wants to. And, he'll play soccer.

I'll have 2 very different 1st graders this year and next year.
For ds who needs a lot of repetition to master basic skills:
R&S Math 1
For reading we've used 3 different things, all have their good points and would be ideal for some students:
LLATL Blue cements blending, cute readers, not much hwing.
Calvert 1 uses Houghton Mifflin's reading program. It has lots of variety so you read something new every day, worksheets reinforce phonics and work on other LA concepts, not too much hwing.
Pathways is a lot of fun to read! The problem imho is that the pre-primer starts at a mid-1st grade level and there are no readers before that point. The workbooks reinforce phonics and other LA skills. There's more hwing, but it's doable for my fine motor skill challenged ds.
Content subjects: We've used FIAR a lot this year because I have a 4yo too. It does a pretty decent job on basic science, geography/social studies, literary analysis at a basic level, and art. If you have youngers to combine with your 1st grader this is a great choice.
SL Core A and B have lots of fun stories and a bit of science that's on about the same level as the textbook that Calvert uses for 1st grade. We read these for fun, but the kids have picked up a lot from them. They aren't as structured as FIAR, but you also don't have to do any planning.
BF Early Primary suggests lots of fun books, although a couple are too long for my crew (Pumphrey's Pilgrims for example). This is an easy way to add in some American history that isn't covered in SL or FIAR.
Now for next year's first grader:
Dd is on lesson 15 in Calvert K so I think we'll start Calvert 1 in October. I plan to use Calvert as long as it works for dd, but if she needs reinforcement or another format I'll get out LLATL or Pathways. Well, we'll probably read Pathways anyway because it's a lot of fun.
We may add in Miquon with dd who enjoys manipulatives and figuring things out for herself. She's very different than her db and this shows most in math.
For content subjects we'll do SL Core C with Science and Winterpromise Animal Worlds next year. I'm probably going to add in some Ambleside readings as well.
We use HWT for hwing, but this is handled by ds's therapist so I don't schedule it.
We do ballet, Tae Kwon Do, gymnastics, kindermusik and a hs coop.
