looking for Nintendo DS game recommendations

My dd12 is saving up for a DS. She knows she wants Nintendogs (she's played that on a friend's DS). What other games should we look into? Thanks.:)

My dd11 likes the Brain Age games.

I don't have any recommendations for a girl (I only have a boy), but I just wanted to mention that the DS also plays GameBoy Advance games. You can find them very, very cheap because they aren't making GBA anymore. There are a lot of very cute, and very cool games on that platform, too. Just a tip to stretch your dd's budget a bit. :)

My kids really like Duck Amuck and Animal Crossing (my eldest is 12 and those are the two games she plays the most). ETA: These are in addition to Nintendogs because my daughters loooooooooove that one.

My daughter likes the Sims right now... She used to really like Nintendogs. She likes Brain Age, Mario Kart, and Mario Party DS (the last two can be played with friends who have DS's, without them owning the game. Very cool.) She just bought a friend a REALLY cool magician one that helps kids do magic tricks with their DS... some kids will think it's great (this friend REALLY into magic tricks) others probably not so much.

Another vote for Animal Crossing. We got our 9 year old dd one for Christmas. She has Animal Crossing, Cooking Mama, and Nintendogs. She likes them all, but by far loves Animal Crossing the best. Actually, our 18 year old ds plays her Animal Crossing as well. It seems to be a big hit. When she broke her ankle a few weeks ago and we were stuck in the hospital, we were looking on Amazon for different games. My thinking was it would be a LONG 6 weeks in a full leg cast, so I would get her a game. She had narrowed it down to Zoo Tycoon. I didn't order it because she never gave me the, "Yes, I must have the game." Now she is running around on crutches with that full cast, so I don't think she "needs" the game. All that to say, I think that Zoo Tycoon will be her next pick for a game.
