For those of you who've used online writing classes, which one has been a favorite of your child? I'm thinking of adding a class next yr. for my 8th grader. She'd probably prefer some type of creative writing to begin with, although I'd like to work up to essays and such after a while. Write at Home? Bravewriter? Which one should I go with?

Dd started with the Paragraph class (this is the foundation), Writing about Books, Expository and then Poetry Writing/Analysis. She's learned a lot.

She tried WriteatHome and found it very "light."

We use Write at Home and I don't consider it light. This is our second year and our teacher is expecting a lot for 9th and I like it. My 6th grader started and was bumped up to the next grade (she has a binder full or reports and writings). If it doesn't fit they'll suggest moving your child up.

Write@HOme might "seem" light to a parent not used to the teaching of writing but this program is hands-down one of the best out there. NOt only does it gentley teach the student and stretch the student but it also provides wonderful insights in how to do that yourself. The majority of the coaches do an excellent job!

thank you so much! I guess I'll ponder Write at Home a little more...
