My dd will be taking the NLE 1 soon. She has been reviewing grammar from Henle1 according to the syllibus for exam 1 and has taken about 4 of the previous tests. She is also reading books from the library on Roman history and mythology. How else should she prepare? Thank you, Angela

Anglela, you're right on track with everything we've ever done to prepare! Good for you:cheers2: I wish your dd well on the test. Sadly I think this will be our last year for NLE as my dd wants to focus on French and she doesn't have time to do both languages.

Sounds like you've got it covered!
I think systematically going through the syllabus they provide is the best preparation--make sure your daughter really understands everything on that list! Take as many of the prior years' tests as you can and review the Roman names of gods and goddesses.
I'd also review Latin sayings as there's always at least one or two on the test.
Have fun!

I think sometimes they have a bit of geography on there as well. I agree with making sure she knows EVERYTHING listed on the syllabus. Especially pertaining to the grammar. We made flashcards for several of the gods and goddesses. I put the Roman names in RED on one side with the corresponding Greeks in GREEN (get it? R for Roman and red and G for Greek and Green). The Greek side also had what he/she was the god/goddess of.
You might also make sure you are familiar with city, cultural, and domestic life. We have a book entitled, "To Be a Roman" which covers a lot of this material.
If you have the Famous Men of Rome book, there is a list of principle figures from Roman history listed in the back.
