Questions about Lightining Lit

Can Lightning Lit 7 and/or 8 be used for a 9th grader (high school credit) for a son who needs the very basics of lit comprehension, etc.? Unlike my other 5, my youngest does not really enjoy reading by himself, but still needs a gentle intro for high school.

Abeka Grammar and Comp. III (just the grammar portion)
Jensen's Vocabulary (Latin roots portion)
Jensen's Writing

I counted this as English 9 worth 1 credit.

Using LL8 this year with our 9th grader as the literature portion of his English credit. And if you think that the literature selection of LL7 would be a better fit, then start with LL7 and continue with LL8 during 9th grade. (Even going at a very gentle pace, we finished LL7, a full year program, about 6 weeks early.)
