Is anyone familiar with the Everyday Math (http://everydaymath.uchicago.edu/) program? I'm hearing a lot of complaints about it from friends with kids in public school, and I wondered what the Hive Mind knew.

Thanks.

I have taught it in ps. It would be an ok (not great, not worthless) curriculum if teachers were fully trained in how to use it, parents knew how to reinforce it, etc. Unfortunately, I think it is only used thoroughly and properly by a handful of schools, and those are mostly the sorts of schools (public ones in affluent communitites or expensive private schools) where parents are most likely to hold schools accountable. What most ps kids get is a hodgepodge of the curriculum.
