Hi! Long time lurker here, but this is only my 2nd post. I appreciate all the solid advice that I've read here on these boards.

I feel like we're at a crossroads for math, especially with my oldest. He is finishing Singapore 6B right now. He has a decent mathematical mind, but makes lots of careless errors. It's very frustrating to know that he understands the concepts, but makes so many silly mistakes. Because of this, I think he needs something solid with a little more practice. We also need him to have as much independence as possible, since we're working with 6 kids here, and our school days are dragging out to at least 3pm.....yawn....

So far, my choices are ALEKS, Teaching Textbooks, or Video Text. I notice that alot of you supplement ALEKS and TT, and I'm OK with that idea, but have no idea what to supplement with. He is probably close to being ready for Algebra, but he'll only be 12 in August, so a challenging pre-algebra would probably be great, too.

So what combos are good? ALEKS + what? TT + what? Thank you so much!

Why not stick with Singapore? It doesn't jump straight into Algebra and remains excellent.
