For those who have used MUS in Pre-Algebra or higher, did you find you needed the blocks?
I am looking at using MUS as a supplement to our other math program (Singapore). We are currently using Life of Fred, but ds feels that there is not enough explanation for him. He likes to read them for fun, but would rather use something else for math.
So, I was thinking of using MUS as a supplement. I would also use this for dd (which is why I am considering Pre-Algebra). Ds is almost finished with Life of Fred Beginning Algebra and the second book in the New Math Counts series by Singapore. Should I have him skip MUS Algebra and go into Geometry or Alg. 2?
I would also like to wait until the updated books are out before purchasing and I know he will be done with his current LoF and NMC books by then.
My questions are: Do I need the blocks for Pre-Alg. and up? Should I start ds on Alg. (for review) or go on to Geo. or Alg. 2?
Thanks!
