Has anyone ever used the "Hey, Andrew!" series from beginning to end, levels 1-7?
We are on level 5, and I kinda hate to switch horses midstream, but there seems to be a learning hump right now. I just spent a large part of a day making paradigm charts for my kids, hoping this will help them. But I'm just wondering if the murky waters will clear up, or if it just gets worse, kwim?
Anyway, I guess I would like to hear some success stories. Thanks!
Editing to add: What curriculum did you move into after HA? Mounce?

We used HA through level five and switched to "Elementary Greek" last year. We are almost through the first book and plan, at this point to continue.
HA was a great way to start, fun games, matching, etc. A really good way to learn the alphabet solidly. After awhile though, and after some Latina Christiana under our belt I realized we were learning greek more "Whole to parts" rather than the other way around. At least that's how it seemed to us. "EG" is similar to LC in that it teaches the paradigms and then applies them. THis just made more sense to us and it has been a lot easier to digest and understand. It was not hard to switch mid-stream, we just breezed through the first bit and took our time when needed. THere was some overlap of vocabulary but most of the grammar concepts were new because they simply hadn't been introduced that way in HA.
HOpe this helps. Feel free to email me privately.

I'm sorry that I didn't see this response earlier! :o
Thank you so much for your response! :D
I am wondering, though, when you switched from level 5 of HA to EG, where did you start? Did you just start at the book 1 of EG, or did you start in book 2, or what?
Any help you can give me will be highly appreciated! Thank you!
PS - I will send this to you in PM, just in case you aren't looking at this forum any more.

OOPS - I just realized that you said you started at the beginning of EG. Sorry - I should have read more closely. :o

Almost. My ds 14 is in level 6 now. I'm planning on having him go all through 7, then try something else, like Mounce.

Well, this was my plan, too... until HA started getting a bit confusing. I actually just purchased Mounce with the idea to start on it myself in order to help out DS's with their HA... we'll see how it goes...

I went to the Elementary Greek site and found out that this curriculum is not for high school and do not earn a credit as such.
They do suggest a book...Greek for All Ages...but I have not be able to find it.
Does anyone knows or heard about this book?
Thanks in advance.

I'm working through HA myself but only at level 5 right now. It is confusing to me, maybe just because I don't have the time to put into all the memorization that it needs. I've decided to just keep plugging on, though, and not worry about complete mastery. I'll look up the answers if I need to, and keep going. Fortunately my dh knows greek fairly well, so we can ask him when we have questions.
