General Science Question for Apologia users

For an entering 6th grader who loves science, do you think that it would be ok to start him with Apologia General Science? I know it says to start in 7th grade but I was wondering if anyone had used it in 6th and if they were happy they had or wish they waited.

I have a 6th grader and a 7th grader this year. I had orriginally planned to have them both do Apologia Gen. Science together, but that didn't work out so well. My girls have a love/hate relationship (usually working together on school work brings out the worst in them, but we are working on that.) and are extremely competitive. So that is why I opted not to let my 6th grader work together with my 7th grader. But as far as the content, I have no doubt that my 6th grader could easily handle it. I would say, especially if your child loves science, go for it!
