Precalculus=College Algebra + Trigonometry ??
My non-mathy son would struggle to do Precal. in a year. So doing College Algebra for one year, then Trig. for another year would constitute Precal? How would I list College Algebra on his transcripts? As Algebra 3?
TIA:)

At this level they are both considered 1-semester courses....
I'd list it as College Algebra and then Trigonometry.... personally I'd still award only 1 credit total for both--maybe 1.5 credits total if you find a way to throw some analytical Geometry in the mix. If a student works Biology over 2 years they still earn only 1 credit (my oldest dd takes at least 2 years per high school course..sigh....).

If you have your heart set on that route, Keystone High School offers a full credit of Trig in addition to their one semester course. https://enroll.keystonehighschool.com/KeystoneOes/portlets/catalog/configureCourseAction.do
And here are the reviews of Chalkdust College Algebra. As far as what to call it, I think College Algebra, Algebra 3, or Advanced Math would be fine.

I wouldn't have a problem giving my dc two separate credits for this on their transcripts.

to determine the credit value as Jann said. If a text or course is supposed to be a semester course, according to the publisher, then I would not feel comfortable awarding more that .5 for it. For example, Foerster's Al II with Trigonometry is, according to its author, a full year of Al II and a semester of Trig. So, when I used it for just Al II, I felt comfortable giving it a full credit. I know some folks go through the whole thing in one year, but you'd have to be flying along to pull it off.
I don't think it's generally a good idea to give credit based on time. Some things take longer for some students, but it is the content that counts IMO.
