I'm going to switch my oldest two girls (10-4th grade and 7 - 2nd grade) to FLL and am having a hard time knowing where to place my 7yo. It looks like my oldest is ready for the last bit of level 3.

I've been looking over the topics and it seems things are covered in both level 2 and 3. Are they introduced in level 2 and then covered more in depth in level 3? So where should I put my other dd? In R&S 2 she's been doing verbs (Unit 4, lesson 24 was today).

It's not a big deal if I need both books because my 5yo dd should be ready for level 1 by last summer or early fall.

I think the first few lessons of FLL3 are review, verbs, nouns, pronouns et cetera but then it gets more complicated. I am using FLL3 right now with my ds9 in 3rd grade. We are diagramming sentences and learning about predicate nominatives, direct objects et cetera. FLL3 has more complicated grammar, longer poems, and two sentence dictations.

I would put the 7yo in FLL2. My ds9 has gone through since OPGTR and I feel FLL2 is appropriate for 2nd grade in length of lessons and ease. A lot of the definitions are reviewed many times helping them to memorize linking verbs, definitions, pronouns, and prepositions. FLL3 does not spend as much time in review of these things.

It is a great program. We love it here. I am so excited that they came out with a FLL 4.

Good Luck!

I agree with putting the 7 yo into fll 2. The older one could do fll3 or possibly fll4 depending on what he or she has already done. My 10 yo 4th grader is currently about half way through fll3 and doing great.

Thanks!

From your description of FLL3, it's pretty obivous that she does need to be in FLL2.
