As a Canadian, secular home schooler how can this affect me or other Canadian home schoolers in particular? Can someone explain it further to me please, as I have not been following it.

You might do a search for this (or it may show up in related threads at the bottom of this page) as there was a lengthy discussion of it here just a few days ago. Some feel it won't impact developed countries at all. I tend to agree with HSLDA on this one. I think it poses severe threats to family life and a parent's control of their own children. I think we're already starting to see a few judges worldwide imposing wild rulings based on the language of this treaty. I think we can expect more of same in future,
