Try the Beginner World Atlas by Rand McNally. You can find it at geomatters.com.

World Atlas, Atlas of N. America and our favorite...Animal Jigsaw Atlas which has animals found in that certain continent. If you don't want the puzzle-book format, Usborne has the Children's Picture Atlas (very nice for younger kids!), Internet Linked First Atlas (ages 8+) as well as the Sticker Atlas of the World (also fun for younger kids). HTH!
