We are thinking about getting a trampoline. Yes, I'm aware of the insurance and safety concerns. If you have a tramp and are pleased, can you tell me the size, brand, and where you bought it? Also, brands/stores to avoid?
Thanks!

We bought it from Costco and LOVE it!!

I'd highly recommend it to anyone. The poles are not as bouncy as springs are but the kids don't know the difference and it is so much safer!! Set up was relatively quick and easy and the customer service at Costco is great so I know they'll back me up if anything were to go wrong with it.

I had heard rectangle trampolines were much safer than round ones. But they are also more expensive.

Their customer service was great too.

My dh bought one at Academy Sports. I don't remember the brand but it was under $200. He started putting it together but returned it because he felt it was poorly constructed.
He finally found one at Sam's Club - 15' Skywalker, with the safety enclosure. We have had it for a year and 1/2 and it has held up well. My kids use it all the time during their morning break and after their schoolwork is done.
The 15' size is great. We have fire ants in Texas so our entire family piles on the tramp when we want to lay down and look at the stars at night. Our kids also have tramp camp-outs over the summer when it is hot.
We did have to change insurance companies to get the homeowners coverage we needed with the trampoline.

We got this one

at the beginning of last summer! LOVE IT! Mainly we love having a trampoline - no regrets, whatsoever. The kids jump on it any chance they get (they are on it as I type) and we have plenty of rules about how many kids and what activity is acceptable. As long as the rules are followed, it's no more dangerous than normal outside play. :)
A couple recommendations, get one with an enclosure, and make sure the enclosure "touches down" on the INSIDE of the springs, not the outside. Completely removes the chance of slipping into the spring area.
During the summer, we set the sprinkler up under the tramp and it's a blast. When it snowed, they were out there jumping in the snow. I love the fact that they can get good exercise in our little backyard. Have fun! :)

This is an awesome company with top of the line trampolines. They have some of the highest weight limits available. Ours is almost 10 years old and still looks brand new! The metal frame is huge compared to ones purchased at big box marts, and came delivered on a semi. I highly recommend them!
We have a sixteen foot round, by the way. The larger the trampoline, the safer it is, because it's easier to keep the kids away from the edges. It has been one of the best purchases we have ever made.

Ditto! Avoid Academy Sports!
We bought ours and had a year of headaches. I had to weld it together and it still fell apart. Eventually we threw it away. argh
No matter what brand you choose, make sure you set participant limits, and purchase a net.
We checked with our insurance company first and there was no additional cost associated with the tramp. If we ever purchased another, it would be a long, runner-style trampoline.

You can void your homeowner's policy if you get one so DOUBLE CHECK (yes, I am shouting).
We have one w/out springs and it has an enclosure. Love it, love it, love it.

Wow! I had NO idea a tramp could affect my home owners insurance! We're thinking of getting one, so I'll definitely call and check on that. Thanks for the heads up!
