Do I need the teacher guides to HWT pr K and K?

I got an order in today with "Get Set up for School" and "Letters and Numbers for Me". For some reason I did not order the Teacher guides. Do I really need these? We already practice makeing letters with playdo, straws, pipe cleaners and our slate board. Can I just have them practice a page or two a day and reinforce the lines and curves with the hands on items I mentioned above?
