I called for information, but they want you to come in for a consultation before they give you details. That's fine. I'm going in at 6:00 in the morning, but I want to know if the cost is ballpark of something I'm willing to pay. And I want to be able to discuss it with dh, which always sounds corny when you say it to people.
Cost? Commitment? Payment methods? I know the rates might vary a little, but I'm assuming they will be similar from one place to the other.
It was about $45-50/month w/auto deduction. You must commit to 1 yr. I enjoyed going. You really can work-out in 30mins, in your street clothes. Everyone was very nice; I just quit because we bought a house. :o

Our local Curves kept *odd* hours that just didn't work for me. Call and check the hours.

I just joined in the Cincinnati area. There was a sign-up fee ($100) and it is $35/month.
I love it. It has got me moving again. I love the all women. I love that I'm not the only middle-aged person. I can work up a sweat or be a bit more laid back.
And fwiw, I don't think it's wierd at all to have to check with your husband. I'd expect my husband to check with me before making such a commitment (which is substantial for our income.)

I pay about $34 a month including tax. I had to sign a one-year deal to get a good rate and not have to pay a big start-up fee. They did do the whole, "We need an answer right now or this deal won't be good tomorrow." etc. thing, but I knew going in I wanted to join, so it didn't bug me.
It was my Christmas gift, so I knew what I could spend and just needed to hear the price to know whether I could do it or not.
I tell everybody that I want to discuss things with dh. Who cares what they think? :p

I went in for a consultation. They had no problem letting me think about it and consult with my dh. They just told me to call them back in a few days. I decided against it. In my case, I decided that the format of short bursts at different stations was not right for my body - I tend to get muscle/ tendon injuries really easily if they are not warmed up very slowly. Of course most people don't have that problem but I do know of one other woman in my neighborhood who had to go to physical therapy because she tore something at Curves. Just be sure, you think about stuff like that first. In my case, when I consulted with my Dr. he confirmed that I would do better with another kind of exercise program.

it was $39/month (auto-draft, with a 1 yr commitment) and I joined when there was a "no joining fee" special. I had a miscarriage, and my next pregnancy the doctor forbid exercise, and they were very kind to release me from my contract with no penalties or fees.
I agree about checking the hours, though. My most convenient time to exercise at the time was right after lunch, and they were closed.

Thanks for reminding me about them!
Joining fee of $99 (special right now normally $149) and $34 a month with one year auto draft. *but* if you want out of the contract you can cancel and pay an extra $10 for each month you did use.
There is a coupon on the Curves cereal box for a 2 week guest pass - I'm going to try it out.
