In France, students frequently have to make notebooks with pictures in them. To fit that need, there is a series developed by "Editions Lito". Each booklet covers a different period and has an "autocollant" colored self-sticking picture, frequently a historical reprint. Then there is a little text you can cut out. If you stick the picture on a 3x5 card, then you can put the text on the back.
Here is the series at fnac (maybe Cleo, Yvonne, or Nan know of other places). There are more subjects than listed here, but I haven't found them on the internet yet, eg Les grandes decouvertes, Le moyen age, etc

On the cover you see a main picture with various little pictures around it. Those are examples of the quality of the pictures used...
There are other subjects - great musiciens, geography, science....which can be useful if you are making notebooks in other subjects as well....
