I just have a few more things to order, but most of our stuff is on the way. This is what we are doing:

12th:
BJU-Pre Calc
Apologia Advanced Chemistry
SOS Spanish II
Writing at the CC
Intro to Criminal Justice at CC

10th:
Saxon Alg 2
BJU Chemistry
BJU Writing & Grammar 10
IEW SWI C
Notgrass Exploring Wold History-counts as Lit too
SOS Spanish II
Henle II

8th, 7th, 5th and 3rd:
TOG year 1 redsign ( yes, I finally decided lol) and writing
Elementary Greek I
Latinia Christiana II
SWR ( 8th will use Apples II)
Atelier Art level 6
Music Ace and hopefully piano for atleast the 8th grader
SWB's new writing book for atleast the 3rd grader, but I am thinking 7th and 5th too
8th will use The Thinking toolbox, 7th The Fallacy Detective and 5th Mind benders

BJU at their own levels:
Math
Science
English
K5 math and K5 beginnings

My 3rd grader will be using SWR and ETC for reading and possible some other resources once we have his eval done.

I had fun planning and even more fun shopping! :D

My 6th & 7th grade plans look similar to your middle grade plans. Are you going the LCC route? I don't see any separate grammar, so I'm assuming you will cover it with LCII. I also don't see a math, but I'm assuming it is SWR maybe? Not sure about that acronym. The only additional thing I've included is a separate spelling program.

Quite honestly, planning and shopping are my favorite homeschool activities. The actual teaching, not as much..

Or will her Middle School book be out by then? I'm using Writing With Ease with my 2nd, 3rd/4th (he's in the middle!) and possible 5th grader. Could I use the Elem. book w/ my 7th grader, too? She's a bit writing phobic although getting much better.

This was posted by SWB regarding her new writing program:
__________________________________________________ ____________________________________________

"We used levels instead of grades because...

young children progress at very different rates through acquiring the skills. The levels are roughly equivalent to grades, but reluctant writers may need to start at a lower level. Essentially:

if your child can do copywork well, but struggles a bit with one to two sentence dictations, start with Level 2,

if your child struggles with three to four sentence dictation and/or has difficulty with coherent, brief summaries, start with Level 3,

if your (slightly older) child can think of what to write but can't get it on paper, start with Level 4.

There are diagnostic tests in the Writing With Ease text to help you place your student."

It sounds like this program will let your child begin where she needs to. Here is a link to the whole discussion:

Overachiever!:p

Just kidding! I am so jealous. We are waiting until our tax refund and convention in May.

Yes, exactly. My soon to be 7th and 5th graders need help with their writing so I might start them in SWB's book, but at which level I am not sure.

I will be using BJU for grammar and math for everyone, so I listed it at the bottom of the post. SWR is spelling.

I agree @ planning and shopping! I only wish teaching was as fun or easy.

Not sure, that's what I need to decide, too. We do copy/work and dictation, but my son is really lacking so I have to figure out what to do with him.

That's what we did for the first time! I used to have to buy a bit here and there. It was really fun being able to plan and shop at one time thanks to tax time :D

Sorry, Jean. I read the bottom part wrong because I saw the 12th grade calc and 10th grade BJU Grammar & writing at the beginning of your post. Yes, you definitely have all of your bases covered! Great job--I can't imagine planning for that many children.

I like shopping, too! Ordered most of my stuff over the weekend, also. Can't WAIT to get it in so I can start going over it!

Have fun,

OK I am impressed. I am still figuring it out. Actually had planned to get it completely planned out today but contractor issues got the better of me in the kitchen. So now I am still planning. Oh to be done already. I would rather be stalking the mailman. Well at least for part of it. I will be getting some at convention in April.
