Does it really matter? I have pinto, would they work?

I don't think it's a huge deal. I use navy beans, but pintos would work, too. I'd avoid kidney or garbanzos, though. LOL

Oohh, I really like pintos with ham! Good choice. Lots of others work too, but pintos are my favorites for that! Yum, when's dinner?;)

I normally put sausage in my lentil soup, but ham was really nice. lentils, brown rice, onion, celery, bay leaf, and a ham bone from Honeybaked Ham (did you know you can get what seems like a few pounds of meat on a Honeybaked Ham bone, and they'll sell them to you for $5?
