UW in Seattle requires SAT II for homeschoolers to validate foreign language grades.
Any of your dc take this test?
We'll also do a bit of Spanish w/ Rosetta Stone. I'm curious how tough these SAT II tests are.
Thanks in advance!

There are sample questions here (http://www.collegeboard.com/student/testing/sat/lc_two/latin/latin.html).

I've had two kids take the SAT II test in Latin. Even after several years of Latin study, this test was not terribly easy. It covers all of Latin grammar and also tests reading ability with several passages. The best (well, only) review book we found was the REA guide. That's your best bet for seeing what the test covers.

Thanks for the assessment, Kathy. We bought the REA guide and found a sample test to be challenging. I had wondered if something had happened to my son's sixteen year old brain or if the test was really that hard!

My dd got a 5 on the AP Latin Virgil exam yet her lowest SAT2 score was in Latin.
She thought the Latin SAT2 exam was HARD HARD HARD.

Same exact story for my dd, Gwen! She is contemplating a retake in June.

My teen also took the SAT 2 Latin test after taking AP Latin (in her case AP Latin Literature). She did quite well (740, I believe).
She spent some time with the REA SAT Subject Test in Latin (http://www.amazon.com/SAT-Subject-Test-Latin-CD-ROM/dp/0738602531) book. She also used a book that her Latin instructor recommended:
Excelability in Advanced Latin (http://www.bolchazy.com/prod.php?cat=latin&id=5122) by Marianthe Colakis.
Good luck to the test takers!

I just asked my daughter what she found most helpful as regards this test. She said taking the sample test in The Official Study Guide for all SAT Subject Tests (http://store.collegeboard.com/product_detail.asp?item=007034&BannerID=text_SujectTestGuideALL&AffiliateID=1) was quite helpful in showing her what was expected.
