S/O question about AP credit

If a student gets college credit for an AP level course, how does it figure into the GPA calculation for the college?

Different schools probably do it differently, but at my kids' college, AP credits and transfer courses just appear as general credits or as specific course credits. Basically, the AP and transfer credits do not figure into the GPA at all.

Our experience is the same as Gwen's. AP and CLEP credits don't figure into GPA at all (at the universities with which we have dealt on these matters).
