Has anyone done this with their highschooler?
Did you enjoy it?
Was it age appropriate?
Any pros and cons appreciated!

We did this a long time ago so I can only tell you what little I remember. My son who is now 20 did it and it is one of his better homeschool memories. There are a lot of vocabulary words for each lesson which can really bog the student down. Ds found that reading the book and just looking up words he did not know as he went along worked better for him. Many word definitions can be inferred by the context so there weren't as many to look up that way. He loved the books, but I'll warn you - some of them were long and somewhat challenging. Nevertheless he still gives this curriculum two thumbs up.:) He especially enjoyed Ivanhoe and the Talisman by Sir Walter Scott, and The Story of Liberty by Charles Coffin. He was not fond of The Scottish Chiefs and says that there was too much descriptive writing (a bit like Charles Dickens) and he kind of slogged through that one.
