I've got an 8th grade boy and 6th grade girl coming up next year. Just checking out what you have done for those grades this year. Math is covered - we're doing Teaching Textbooks, and I think we're sticking with Apologia for Science. They're fairly advanced and self-motivated. Very interested in History/Geo and Language Arts and any other ideas. Recommended reading lists are good. Do you know if Well Trained Mind has a reading list for these grades? I found the High School list. Any comments on Analytical Grammar? Thanks! Janet M. :)

We're finishing up a SOTW cycle, with Kingfisher, OIS, TCO and lots of literature. For English we'll be doing So You Really Want to Learn English (Prep) and Lightning Literature.

is doing the following this year.

LL7
Analytical Grammar
Wordsmith
Greek

For History we have been using MFW 1850-modern times.
I also follow thethe MFW science but have added in Apologia -swimming creatures for fun.

As far as his reading We have him read what is assigned for LL7, plus I want him to be reading a biography, history selection and something fun of his choice. I try to work in artists, composers, scientists and men of faith biographies.
