How do I combine all three?

honestly, I wouldn't even try.

Especially considering the ages of your little ones :001_smile:

My own experience has been that, in general, when I attempt to combine programs, I end up covering the material more broadly, but less deeply. As a result, I feel more "scattered" in my approach, and my dc don't retain as much. I end up feeling like I'm not taking full advantage of the materials I have chosen, and that I would be better off using them sequentially rather than concurrently.

I'm not familiar with the third curriculum you mentioned, but perhaps you could use SOTW IV with your 11yo while he is still in grammar school, then switch to MOH when he is in the logic stage?

I'd also encourage you to keep your dc together, using the same curriculum, for history.

HTH a little, and that you find what will work best for you :)

My Father's World "Creation to the Greeks":

They don't have SOTW 1 scheduled in that year, but you could use it in the Book Basket and/or read it aloud in addition to what's scheduled. MFW does schedule SOTW 2, 3 and 4 in the later years, though.

MFW also schedules all your regular read-alouds, and then you have an extensive booklist in the back of the TM for more options as time and interest allow.

Oh duh, I just realized you were asking about MOH, too. :tongue_smilie: Well, you could use MOH in the book basket as well, or just skip it. The lessons in MOH are short summaries and not very in-depth unless you add a bunch of stuff -- and maybe that's what you're looking for -- or maybe not, since you're also looking to add SOTW and Streams? Anyway, it would be redundant to use MOH *and* MFW Creation to the Greeks.... If you happen to be interested in MFW, I would forget about MOH unless you already have it and want to throw it in the book basket.

Okay, never mind. LOL. I guess my point is that if you want to schedule several different resources together, MFW is just another option.

I think your asking too much of yourself. I tried doing a MOH/SOTW combo and it dragged our year out too much.

But, you could use these as a starting point. http://www.redshift.com/~bonajo/SOTWmenu.htm

I came to the conclusion that I'm going to get us all through SOTW for one cycle. I can decide what to do after that when we are finished.
