...realizes how amusing it is to see him standing on the sidewalk right outside his shop, smoking? I don't buy anything there, but I go by often either as I drive or run through town. And it never ceases to amaze me that the guy doesn't at least duck out back for his drag.:p

But maybe he's smoking some uber-healthful herb, Colleen!

he thinks all the *healthy* food he is eating will make up for the cigarettes...or maybe he is just an employee who doesn't care how he represents his employer's store.

"I'll take an organic power greens smoothie and a pack of Marlboro's, please!"
This guy's the owner, that much I know. Go figure!

Go to a hospital, and you always see the staff outside the doors puffing away. It speaks volumes to me about just how much of addiction it really is. Now your health food store dude...he's probably smoking for medicinal purposes. http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/cool10.gif (http://www.freesmileys.org)

We have a little local health food store, too, and one day the owner was outside just a puffing away. I was so surprised and had to look twice. My kids were beyond amazed!
But, I guess it's no more shocking than the kids and me sneaking a (vegan)cream horn every once in a while!;)

One of my farmers told me how hysterical it was to him to be lectured about the dangers of chemicals in farming by young guys and girls puffing away.

Can you smell it? Is it maybe those clove thingies? Or... ya know? http://freesmileyface.net/smiley/Winks/big-wink.gif (http://freesmileyface.net)
Whatever it is, it still looks bad though, doesn't it? One of the doctors at our local hospitals can often be found around the entrance having his smoke break.

about our local Chicago health food store after I ran into one of the store employees (in the heath food store uniform) picking up 12 lbs of hamburger at the nearby Jewel. He was telling the Jewel employee "We ran out."

We have a fellow in our organic food co-op that spends a fortune on herbal supplements every month. And his order form stinks so bad of cigarette smoke that I get hives from it!

the hospital people who would smoke outside the door to radiation, right next to the sign that said "No smoking here" and had a map to the smoking area. You'd think seeing real live cancer patients without hair would inspire them to do their smoking elsewhere, if not quit smoking altogether.

One would think! There seems to be a very high rate of smoking in the medical profession, though.
