My ds12 will be finishing up LC2 in April and we we're hoping to start Spanish in the fall. Do I continue Latin studies along with Spanish, or do I drop Latin and focus on Spanish? Also, if I continue Latin, what is the curriculum recommended? BTW, I can't find my copy of TWTM to look this up! Thanks!

The natural progression would be to move into Henle. Option #1 for Latin in the Logic stage is to continue Latin and start a modern language.

If you are hoping for your dc to reap all the academic benefits of studying Latin then definitely do not drop it after LC II. This would be a good time to add a modern language if you want to. MP suggests Henle after LC.

I haven't started our Latin journey but was planning on using Latin Pep after LC2.

Henle is the next step and what we're planning to use. I've been going through it myself and I like it. Another option is First Form Latin. This is Memoria Press's middle school Latin program that will take the place of Henle 1. I was told that they are trying to get it published for the Fall. My understanding is that there will be 4 books in the series and they will take the student all the way through the Latin grammar.

And I say, sure do Latin and Spanish. We've been doing Latin and French and it's going really well. The French seems so easy after knowing the Latin. I find myself often when teaching a French lesson, saying this is just like Latin. Go for it.

I have a degree in Spanish and am learning Latin along with ds. I say keep Latin and start Spanish...you can really see how one builds on the other and my Spanish knowledge has made understanding Latin so much easier. It would work in the reverse as well.
