Since I'm starting to look at next year's curriculum, it's time to clear out some items that we are done with. Some of these are LONG overdue to leave the bookshelves! - The Kids' Environment Book: What's Awry and Why by Anne Pedersen. Like new pb $1.00. Provides a clear, balanced and positive discussion of the environmental problems we face today and likely tomorrow. Published in 1991, but info is still relevant today.
- I Can Save the Earth: A Kid's Handbook for Keeping Earth Healthy and Green by Anita Holmes. Like new pb $4.00
- Pollution Problems and Solutions by the National Wildlife Federation. Brand new pb retails $12.95, I'm asking $4.00. Includes reproducible pages, ready-to-use activities (crafts, creative writing, science experiments, etc.), essays from leading scientists and glossaries and bibliographies.
- Ecology Connection: Theme-Related Arts and Crafts Projects Focusing on the Environment. Like new, large pb $6.00. This book has sooo many great ideas for middle and upper grades.
** MATH **
- Times Tales Deluxe with Division & mini-flip book. Retails $29.95, I'm asking $15.00. You can read about this program at their website (http://www.triggermemorysystem.com/Deluxe.html). This program did wonders for my son! The only thing that I can see that I am missing are the 2 practice tests for multiplication.The roll-em cube game was not part of the package when I purchased this several years ago. Everything is still in very good condition.
- A Balanced Approach to Math (Gr. 4). Brand new, never used pb - $2.00. This book covers place value, fractions, division, geometry, number relationships and data analysis. The basic idea is to introduce math as it happens around them.
- Real-Life Math Investigations (Gr. 5). Brand new, never used pb - $2.00. Skills studied inculde whole number operations, graphing, geometry, fractions, logic, algebra, probability and more. The open-ended nature of many of the problems steers students away from looking for a single correct answer.
- Algebra Unplugged by Kenn Amdahl and Jim Loats, Ph.D. New pb $4.00. You can read more about this book here (http://www.clearwaterpublishing.com/algebra.htm).
** SPANISH **
- Spanish for Beginners. Brand new hb retails $16.95, I'm asking $5. This humorously illustrated, colorful book offers beginners their first introduction to the Spanish language.
