If you are using this, what other language arts programs do you use with it?

I'm considering this for dd for 7th grade next year.

I'm using Lightning Lit 7 alongside Galore Park's So You Really Want to Learn English (Prep) 2. (http://www.galorepark.co.uk/product/home_schoolers/95/so-you-really-want-to-learn-english-book-2.html). We are using LL7 a little early - with a 7th grader you could use English Prep 3.

We did LL7 last year with a son who struggles with language arts. We did the readings aloud, together, "popcorn" style ["you read a page, I read a page"], and discussed/did vocab. aloud together. We only skipped a few of the worksheet pages and 2 of the longer writing assignments. LL7 was quite gentle and allowed us to easily do the following as well:

- writing = Wordsmith Apprentice (all); Scholastic Writing books (skimmed)
- grammar = Winston Advanced (half to two-thirds)
- spelling = Megawords; individualized spelling
- solo reading = 10-12 books read on his own that were at or below his reading level

Enjoy! My son really enjoyed this program! Warmest regards, Lori D.

We're using LL7 this year. Ds also uses Analytical Grammar and CLP Spelling. I would like to incorporate PTIW, but it seems there is never enough time.

We are using LL8 with Basics of Communicating Effectively. Is that the name of that book? We simply call it "the orange book." It's grammar. My dd reads plenty on her own in addition to LL8.

LL7, Latin (http://www.latintrivium.com/), Apples Spelling (http://www.christianbook.com/Christian/Books/product?item_no=727011&event=CFN), Oral Language workbook that has sentences she needs to find the errors and correct(just wanted a short extra practice for each day), and Home 2 Teach (http://www.home2teach.com) on line writing classes.
