I am so excited! I have no idea where he got the money (well, some idea ). It was not planned and a total surprise. His current job gives him a discount at the Y and he starts his new job on Monday so he wanted to get it now. He didn't tell me because he didn't want me to worry about wether or not the money was worth it or if I should do it. I am going for a tour today and to sign up for some classes for me and the kids. Childcare is included with the membership and the only classes we have to pay for are swimming.
I feel like he really believes in me now and he gave me this great tool to reach my goal. I love that man! :)

The Y has been great for our homeschool. All 3dc know how to swim well and there are usually free "land" classes they can take each session as well. Some of them are homeschool gym classes.

We LOVE the YMCA around here. Our local branch has a program called "FitLINXX" - it can program weight training machines and keep track of your progress, plus you earn prizes for how much you exercise.
Not that I've been lately :( But when I'm able to go, it's great!
My dh is interviewing for part-time work at the Y, so I'm hoping our membership will be free if he's hired! Great perk! ;)

We are new to this area so I really hope this helps us meet people too.

I *love* our YMCA. We moved here 6 months ago, and it's been the best part of our move. I work there now, in a couple of different departments. My whole family enjoys it, and it changed my life.
I even did a segment in our local paper...

Hope you have a great time and meet lots of wonderful people!

Everyone was really nice but there wasn't enough staff to give me a tour so I am going back tomorrow am for a tour. I did find the childcare area and dropped off the girls. I found the Women's dressing room worked out on a stair climber - bad choice to start with btw and then went to pick up the girls.
Unfortunately it is a maze of a building and could use more signs. I hope the tour will help and I won't keep getting lost. They don't have a basic map of the building, I sure with they did!
I have high hopes but I have to say this is really out of my comfort zone and I wish I had a buddy to go with me.:o
