It seems like such a haphazard effort. Whole credit for this, half for that...I'd like to go somewhere that just helped me roughly plan it all out. Specifically I'd like to find the answers to these questions for someone in Oregon:
1. What constitutes a whole credit in
English
Science
Math
etc.
2. Is it necessary to keep track of hours or just work competed?
3. After a course is over what should we keep?
4. Do you just figure out how many credits are needed by looking at individual college requirements?
5. Does a college require any type of portfolio from a high school student?
6. Is there a sequence that lends itself to better achievement on standardized tests (PSAT, SAT, AP tests)?
7. Is there any advantage at all in using an umbrella school in order to actually get a diploma at the end of hs?
(Whew...) I need a high school newbie FAQ.
TIA
