I have a plan for everything except math and science. I really want to work hard in math and I am starting to feel like my time is getting very limited.

If you had my dd, what would you use to get her ready for Algebra in 8th?

(...and yes this is all with a grain of salt as I know you don't know her the way I do:D)

Here is where she is...
R&S in grades 3,4,5,6 (we will finish our text for grade 6 this year)
Singapore levels 3 and now we are in 4A for supplement

I have the rest of this year and 7th grade to get her ready for Algebra in 8th. We do school year round -so I do have this summer and next summer to work with as well.

I would love some opinions and options.

P.S. Is Horizons like Singapore in that you need only complete its 6 levels to be ready for Algebra? I am asking with my younger dd in mind.

I'd just continue with R&S through 7th and consider that "prealgebra." I'd add in Singpore's CWP for a supplement. That should have her ready for Algebra by 8th grade. Looks like she's on track.

Is she going to school for high school? If so I would use their 8th grade Algebra and 7th grade pre-Algebra books.

If she is staying home, I would work backwards from what you plan to use for Algebra I and Algebra II.

I think I want to use either Chalkdust Algebra I or maybe Jacobs Algebra I.

I can't decide if I want to use R&S8 and continue supplementing with Singapore, use Singapore 5 and 6 adding CWP and Intensive Practice or spend a lot and try Chalkdust Pre-Algebra...

Decisions that are oh sooo important and I am floundering:lol:

Did you see the thread on Chalkdust Pre-Algebra?

I'll try and link it:

I don't use Chalkdust, but I remember KatKat saying something in that thread about doing Chalkdust Pre-Algebra much cheaper.
