Flipping through my year plan, I realized that TOG ug plan schedules D'Aulaire's Greek Myths, Black Ships, and The Odyssey in the middle of Unit 2, but doesn't do a mini-unit on the Greeks until halfway through Unit 3. Why is it split like this? Has anyone rearranged the week plans to do all the Greek assignments together?

I don't know why she split it up, you might want to Search the TOG forums for an answer as I'm pretty sure it has been asked before. The first time we went through year one we completed the program in its prearranged order, last year we moved weeks 13 & 14 to unit 3, it wasn't a big deal, although I believe when you get back to Israel in week 15 students are still reading Greek lit, so you have to move portions of other weeks as well.

because it introduces the very early Greeks and gets you thinking about them. The Greeks stay in the back of your mind as you're studying Israel and Judah. This is *good* since many of the early Greeks emigrated over to Palestine and become the Philistines. You see them referred to in "Hittite Warrior" and in "God King," as well as in many Bible stories about the Philistines.
