I'm doing Animal's and Their Worlds with my girls next year. I am sticking with our current ETC/OPGTR language arts instead of buying the WP LA program.
I'm wondering if I should invest in the LA 1 readers and schedule? DD is already reading Dr. Suess, Amelia Bedila, and Danny the Dinosaur type readers- so I'm sure the level would be good for her. For the $73 the readers and schedule cost I could buy many of the 3.99 (4 for 3 promo) easy leveled readers from Amazon. Or will the LA 1 animal theme readers really add to our curriculum?

The readers they use are the 3.99 (4 for 3) type readers. IMHO, you don't need the schedule because the readers don't really line up with the topics you're studying. You'll be fine if you just read them in order of difficulty (level 3s first, level 4s, then level 5s). The Bible reader is scattered throughout the year whenever a reader finishes before a week is out. It's about on the level of the easiest readers, so you can add it in anytime.

In fact, I've been getting leveled readers from the library to add in because we're reading about a book a week instead of taking 3 weeks per book. You might find yourself doing that too if your dd is already comfortable with 1-3 grade level readers. There are lots of animal non-fiction readers available so you could pick whatever interests you. I've even found some ancient history readers to accompany our SL topics.
