I'm not sure which one to sign my 8th grader for next year. I like both of them but I'm not sure I am comfortable just doing the CW classes. I love the idea behind them, I like them very much, but.... . He would be doing the Aesop/Homer for older beginners and will move to Diogenes in 9th grade but I want to be doing more than that in 8th grade.
If he goes the Scholars online route, we will start with the Intro to college writing, then writing for the college bound in 9th which should give him a broad view of the writing process acrosss the curriculum. We would do the summer Progym writing class from Angus Deo to satisfy my craving for classical writing. He is also going to be doing the literature classes from Scholars online in 9th grade which apparently are coordinated with the writing classes.
So what do you think? I need help making up my mind.
