Please explain how you use this program with all the levels of children in your family at the same time. Thanks a bunch.

Like any math program they are each at their own level and do their own lessons. Not sure what you are asking really. I would be glad to answer questions. I have all of the Greek levels and it is our main math program.

D is working through Epsilon. A is in Gamma and J is not my son and he may return to ps next year so I am picking and choosing lessons that go along with his ps curriculum. He needs the foundation re-built with MUS but I am still trying to cover all of the topics in his ps book.

All of the basics of Elementary math are in the MUS books, they are just in a different order than a standard curriculum. I love that each child is self paced. Sometimes my son takes a day to do a lesson, sometimes a week. There are 30 lessons per book.

I try to stagger the days that my kids use a new lesson. I make sure I have watched the video ahead of time for my son because it is new material for me and the video isn't meant to be self-teaching. My kids like the video though so we do watch it together. Then I grab one of our many small white boards or just the blocks and start working out problems. After a couple I have the child verbally walk me through it and then they take over. We do problems together until they are comfortable. Then they do a worksheet and just ask for help if they need it. Before moving on tot he next lesson I have them "teach" me the lesson so I know they really understand. We always start out using the blocks or fraction overlays until the child drops them on his own. My oldest isn't into them and only pulls out the overlays when he is struggling. Dd will often do a full page of Gamma with blocks for fun, even if she doesn't need them.

I have dc in Algebra 1, Zeta, & Delta at this time. My dc use MUS independently for the most part. When they begin a lesson they watch the dcd & do page A (+ page D if it is lesson 1-10). I mark the worksheets & return them so that corrections can be made & I note at the top of the page what worksheets to do next. The following day they do pages B + E if more practice on the lesson is needed or pages E + F, if they have mastered the concepts. If it is one of the first 10 lessons, I may give the test either the 1st or 2nd day if the concepts are mastered. When my dc were in Beta & Gamma we did the "teach back to me" before the test, but now I only do that on lessons where my dc had trouble with the concepts taught. MUS is much easier to use with multiple children than other curriculums I've used.

We are using Primer. My son and I watch the video together and then he will either do all of the exercises in that unit over a week on his own while I clean up the kitchen, or might need help with the first two.

It isn't a curriculum where all of the levels somehow match up and all ages can participate on a single lesson. In other words, everyone would be working independently from each of the books. I think that is what you were asking.

My older 2 are in Gamma, the 3rd is in Primer. Like I would do with any other math program I have them work on them at their own pace. While ds and dd are in the same book, ds is 2 lessons ahead of dd. I work with each child introducing a concept separately and then have them work on it on their own. This is the same as I would do with any other math program on the market. Math is definitely 1 subject that must be geared towards each individual child, not the group as a whole.

I must have misunderstood what I had read somewhere else on the net. I thought maybe we all could watch the video and do different levels at the same time. That is why I needed some insight on it. It sounded too good to be true.

There is a different video for each book. My DD8 watches the video and does the worksheets on her own, so it is easier in that regard.
