I know a few people have commented on these boards that they skip some of the narrations in either FLL or WWE when using both programs. I am switching our grammar studies to FLL3 and am considering WWE. Could any one comment on the positives and or negatives of using the two programs together?
Thanks!

I bought the WWE 1 because we love the narration exercises in FLL 1 and couldn't get enough. Sorry... I haven't used 3, so I am not really answering you.

This actually helps because I think I'll probably purchase WWE1 to use with my younger son. We are doing FLL1 and he too enjoys the narration. But I still would love to hear from anyone about using FLL3 and WWE together.

We're using FLL3 and WWE together and so far so good. I do skip the narration on FLL3 (we just read it and that's it). I LOVE using both and have nothing negative to say about either one. We're on Week 12 on WWE and Lesson 15 on FLL3 :D.
What were your concerns?

Thank you so much for your reply! To be totally honest, I'm not sure that I have any big concerns about using WWE or
FLL. I have used FLL 1 & 2 with both of my kids and we've all really enjoyed it. I realize that FLL and WWE have similar components such as copywork, dictation and narration. I just do not want to duplicate work if we don't need to. I already own the IEW materials, and there is a part of me that hates to spend more money on a writing program when I already have one. But, unfortunately, I have not been as consistent about using IEW with ds. Some weeks we do a writing assignment, some weeks we don't. That's part of why I'm considering WWE. It seems very easy to use, implement, understand and teach.

Only positives here! I can't speak directly on Level 3, but I can regarding 1.
When using FLL and WWE in conjunction, SWB prompts you that narration is optional if using the other. (I love that!) We opt not to do it as I have the boys narrating both SOTW and science.
They intentionally compliment one another in that the grammar in FLL is reinforced in WWE. If your studying capitalization, for example, SWB prompts you to point it out to the dc in the copywork exercise.
It is one of our "gems" this year. So rich and thorough, yet not overwhelming to the parent or child.

Thank you! I have also found a wealth of informaiton on the peacehillpress website. There is a link to pages and pages of WWE comments/discussions from the forum boards.
I use FLL3 and WWE2 with my 8yo. We skip the poetry memorization and narration in FLL3 and it works out fine.
