We've had spammers before, and they've been dealt with. But what about those who have been asked not to post? Are they being allowed to register here? Do TPTB have the ability to ban people now or do they just not allow them to register?
I'm really loving the more secure feeling over here. Thanks WTM guys!

I would hope we will have less problems with spammers, since they would need to register in order to post. I'm sure there are a few who will do so but hopefully not as many?

so I think that would cut out most of the problems - ie. trolls.

Well, many moons ago, in a galaxy far, far away....LOL
It's happened before. But there was no way to MAKE someone unable to post. Now there is. We've had troll issues before too, which are worse than SPAM issues, imo.

Maybe they wiped the slate clean.
I know I'm in the minority but I do miss the diversity people like Butch provided. In my real life almost everyone I know is just like me. I like the perspective of those whose belief systems are so opposite of mine.
Then again, I also like peace and tranquility. :)

Call me cynical, but I think that someone who is determined to make trouble will find a way to do it.

I will definately miss anon posts. While I know that, technically, they were against the rules, when they were posted they were some of the most heart-wrenching and interesting posts.

You can still post "anon", you just have to go to more effort. You have to create a new user id with (I'm guessing) a different email address. I've been on other message boards like this one and anon posts do happen occasionally.

No doubt I'm in the minority with this opinion, but I feel *sheltered* enough in my home educating experience. I live in the heart of the bible belt and there isn't a co-op or support group within 200 miles of me where you don't have to sign a statement of faith in order to participate. Not that faith is a bad thing, but it's certainly a narrow thing in my life. So.... I appreciate being exposed to a little diversity on-line. I hope the board patrol will allow much freedom (even if it <gasp> offends some) so long as the language is clean.
Onward ho! ~ Linda
