I asked about the Latin linking verbs question on another forum and gave part of your sentence as an example: Magna turba sentio.

I was told that turba is not a good word for the feeling of turmoil, but rather it's used to describe a crowd or rabble. Therefore, you would use it in the accusative case. Magnam turbam sentio. However, I don't think that Latin sentence captures what you were trying to translate from English.

HTH!

Thanks! Now we know that we're back to the drawing board.

Did they say anything else about linking verbs?

Yes, in Latin you can have the sometimes linking verbs take a predicate adjective or a direct object, but it's more common to see them take a direct object.
