Any opinions on this? With dd7 about to embark on writing, I want to give her an opportunity to submit something to a magazine and read other children's writing. This one seems to fit us the best but I was wondering if anyone had any experience with it?
Thank you !

The photography is lovely. They do have writing opportunities as well as an art lesson (something for the child to emulate) in each magazine. Unfortunately for us, we did not subscribe to this until after ds had received a subscription from National Geographic for Kids from a well-meaning, albeit misguided relative. Sigh. Anyway, he LOVES NG with its short, uninspired writings, jokes, etc. I can't stand it. Anyway, I could never get him interested in Nature's Friend. But, IMO, it is a very worthwhile magazine.

My three older children love it. The stories are interesting and informative and the contests (art and writing) are challenging and fun. They love the seek and find, especially. It is a winner at our house. We are on our third year of subscriptions.

My kids really enjoy this magazine. It is a great complement to nature study. Also, I do think it would be a great way to get them excited about having a written piece or even a drawing published.
