I've posted WTB ads over and over, and I never get a response. Not ever.

Am I the only one?

No, I used to sell almost everything I list, now I hardly sell anything there.
Back to VegSource I guess.

Last week I responded to a Want-to-buy ad and the books went out on Friday. I searched it before I posted my long list of items I had/have for sale. I'm also headed to the USPS this afternoon with several book packages for the items I sold on the For-Sale board.

both WTB and For Sale. I haven't sold everything, but I'm pleased with what did go that allowed me to fund other curriculum purchases and help others with their funds :) Most are still in the midst of their current school year (thus haven't posted those items) and it's probably early for full curriculum purchases for next year (wanting to see the new catalogs and curriculum fairs). I know I've tried to stick with things my boys are ready for now and not tie up funds by buying materials not needed for another 5 months or so unless it's a really good deal. I keep a running list of things I'd like to have and what they would cost me to purchase new. I also browse the WTB boards as I've come across things others are looking for that just sits on the shelf here. I do wish we could delete posts once those items have sold to make it searching for specific items that are available easier.

I've gone in and deleted the body of messages, leaving just a ---these have all sold---- but it would be nice to delete off posts. I thought we had that option when this new forum began?

You can modify the title line to include SOLD!. Go into "edit" the post, then click on "go advanced" and it will allow you to edit the title.

Homeschoolclassifieds.com is really good.

I've had luck with both boards. (Michele - those books will be sent out on Thursday! LOL) I always check the WTB boards before posting something on the for sale boards.

Also, since it's the middle of the year, maybe people looking to sell aren't done with their materials yet! Keep posting, keep checking the for sale boards.

I have gotten several responses for WTB and sale ads, so it just might be that what you want isn't very popular? Or maybe it is something very popular that everyone wants to keep?

One thing I would like to bring up is some people price things based on what they paid for them new and at full price. Often they don't realize it but their item is price the same, now used, as one can get it new at a discount source. WTM was one that I had that issue with for a while. I want to post and let them know why it isn't selling, but I am afraid it will offend them.

with both selling and WTB. Just the other day I posted a WTB and received a response that day. I think it depends on the popularity of the items you are selling.

Also, this new board has a great search feature. It searchs titles and the body of the message.

It doesn't change the title on the board, just when you open the thread. Weird. Here's an example of an item I lowered the price o (http://www.welltrainedmind.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6052)f, notice that the title under my avatar says $23 each, the new price, but the title outside of the message, on top of "User Control Panel (CP)" still reflects $25, the old price. That old price is what people who haven't opened the thread yet see, not the new price.

I got a response to my long-shot WTB post.

I think you'll actually get a lot more views here, because people like me will hit
"New Posts" and have FS posts and WTB posts mixed in with their Curriculum or General board posts.

Actually I see the new price in the subject line.

Way at the top, on top of where it says "User Control Panel," next to the blue file icon? Here are all my posts for sale (http://www.welltrainedmind.com/forums/search.php?searchid=101476), the title is still $25.

I see it now. :-)
