Help! Canon Pixma printer won't print

I'm trying to print something--I have brand new ink in, but it isn't helping. All the ink is snapped in correctly, but the printer is barely working--I'm printing notebooking pages with handwriting lines--only the dashed line is coming out.
Any ideas? Hubby can't help right now.

Have you run the cleaning cycle? Is the dashed line color and the solid line black? If so, I'd guess that the printhead is clogged somehow.
