I have a bunch of Greenleaf Guides sitting on my bookshelf, bought a couple of years ago cheap from a homeschooler who was finishing up. What's the opinion on these? When I first flipped through them, I thought yuck! Black and white, boring, no pictures (these are the older versions). But as I started to dig into the TMs it seemed like you use not only the guide but add in other books.

Has anyone used the older and newer editions? What's the difference (other than a new cover :o) ? Any opinions? I have TOG Classic and the Greenleaf guides are used pretty extensively in Yrs 1 & 2 at the Dialectic level.

TIA

I have also only used the old guides (if by "old" you mean Greenleaf instead of Memoria Press). I have the newer Greenleaf version, but I'm pretty sure only the cover has changed. I love them. The discussion questions are great, and the references to other materials, such as the Cultural Atlas for Young People has been very helpful.

Sorry I can't tell you about the Mem. Press ones. I don't know if they bought the rights from Greenleaf, or if they designed their own guides. I have this question as well.
