using Biblioplan with jr. high kids, ? please

Anyone using Biblioplan with kids in jr. high? Do you find the reading assignments to be advanced enough, or do you also supplement, and with what?

I am using it with my 7th grader. He does the 5+ reading most weeks, along with the history assignment. We are doing 1600-1850, so when applicable I supplement with the Genevieve Foster books. Sometimes we will also do a chapter of The Story of Mankind if it ties in with the week's topic. I have the Activity Guide for Story of the World, so other weeks we supplement with some of those recommended books.
