Laurie

I saw your post on this http://www.welltrainedmind.com/forums/showthread.php?p=702543#post702543 thread.

Here is what you said:
I read it shortly before dd's appointment to be evaluated for a spectrum disorder. (Her speech therapist was the one who suggested having her tested.) After reading the book I told my dh that I expected dd to be diagnosed with high functioning autism and that we should also plan to have ds evaluated because he probably had Asperger Syndrome...and that's exactly how they were diagnosed.

I usually recommend Tony Attwood's book, but I like this one, too. It's been years since I read it, but as I recall there was a good mix of explanation and practical advice for parents. Dr. Dawson is currently involved with the group Autism Speaks as Chief Science Officer. (www.autismspeaks.org)

We are currently going through RDI program with our dd who is considered High Functioning Autism. She is formally diagnosed as Autistic disorder. (Not classic though)

Well while going through this program we realized that our son is very possibly to have Aspergers. However it is mild. We believe that he would benefit from the RDI program.

I would like to know how are you handling your son in regards to schooling and diagnoses.

Thanks

Holly
