I'm looking at Alpha Omega's Switched on Schoolhouse for 9th-12th grade Language Arts and Science. Can you tell me what you think of this program? How it stacks up compared to Apologia? I know I'll have trouble teaching highschool level science, especially, and think this might be the answer.
Thanks!!
ETA: I'm also looking at SOS for Spanish.

The only SOS program I've ever heard **anything** good about is Spanish. My dd used the print version of the 7th grade science, and I have to say it was among the worst material I've ever used. Personally, I'd stay far away from SOS science.

We hated AO science. Absolutely the worst thing we ever did. Ugh.
English isn't bad--not exciting, but not bad.

Thank you all for your thoughts! Not to open a can of worms, but why don't most people here like AOP (according to Conai-Scoil's post?)
Any thoughts on SOS Spanish?
Is their highschool English "enough" for a college-bound student?

In the courses that we tried (science and math), the material was incomplete, forcing the student to attempt to draw conclusions without enough facts. It was a constant source of frustration.
I have read that the Spanish program was good and that missionaries recommend it.

We use SOS Language Arts and Spanish. Our sophomore is in his third year of their Language Arts. My only issue is that there is not enough literature so we supplement the literature. My older child used SOS Language Arts for 10th and 11th grade. His English ACT was in the 30's. He dual enrolled for his senior year of English, or he would have continued with SOS. He did SOS Spanish 1, and then went on to take Spanish 1 at a tutorial. The Spanish teacher wanted to move him to Spanish 2 but I wanted to reinforce Spanish 1. Mostly to augment the conversation. He is now doing SOS Spanish 2.
