I wanted to thank everyone who contributed to my post about my 15yo son's load. He and I read the responses together and discussed all kinds of topics as a results.

It was very eye-opening to him to see that other homeschoolers were working several more hours a day than he was. We also had an opportunity to talk about how, even if you are not interested in a topic, you will still need to learn it (read "it" as "biology", which is the current bane of his existence!).

We talked about grouping his reading so that he reads more of a book on one day and switches between books less often.

We also had a fabulous family discussion on the Iliad on Friday night's dinner. Elegant dinner it was not, what with my TOG notebook spread out amid the porkchops and rice! But, it was a great discussion and every child, down to the 7yo, commented about how much they liked doing that.

Thanks to every single person who took time to post their thoughts or to pm me.:grouphug:

Glad to hear a bright report! The ladies on this board are wonderful; full of wisdom and suggestions. That's why I can't break the habit of visiting here!

That we did drop handwriting and one vocab program, as almost every single person recommended. My son, in particular, wants to thank the ladies on the list for that one!

Great news in both of your posts. Glad you were able to find a solution!
